mach 460 hood fuses
Hi all.
So, about two weeks ago i was driving and took a right turn and all my speakers stopped playing sound. So, I checked the hood fuse about a week later and noticed that a tan 25 amp fuse was blown. so i replaced it and my speakers were fine for a day longer. and then after a turn the next day the fuse blew again. so i go to replace it and soon as i put it in, it sparks and blows. I try with 2 new fuses and both blow as soon as they touch the car.
My question is, does anyone know what amperage the mach 460 fuse is supposed to be? Maybe im putting in too small a fuse and thats why its blowing or im wondering if its a different problem other than a fuse.
thanks

According to the owners manual for a 97, the correct fuse under the hood for the radio is 25 amps and under the dash is 10 amps. See if you can find the wiring for the radio and see if it could be causing a short circuit somewhere and overloading the circuit.
