Default Alarm

Hey guys, I was wondering if you would be able to give me some suggestions for a car alarm for my 04 GT. I just bought her and I dont want anything to happen. Also, where would you suggest on getting it installed. Best buy or an actual car audio store? THanks for the help.[8D]

I would stick to a DEI product ie Viper, Python, Clifford etc. You should also get a DEI 520T battery backup module. I would get it installed at an authorized dealer so that you keep the lifetime warranty from DEI. They should also offer a lifetime warranty on the install.

Given the choice between Best Buy and Circuit City, I would strongly suggest Best Buy because Circuit City recently fired all their senior installers.

Code Alarm. Check their site and find an authorized dealer. Best systems on the market. They have true range too, like my Viper I have no I can be 100 feet away inside a building and it wont work until I come outside. The Code Alarms work great even with interference.

I own the Viper 791xv and I love it. The keychain remote alone is almost worth it. Started the Stang up just fine this last winter.

I had mine installed at a local Best Buy. If doing it there just make sure the tech doing it is fully certified (The one with all of the patches on his shirt) as some of the other installers only really know audio installs. Also, it took my tech about 6 hours to get it done. He had to do the alarm, the remote start, trunk release, and deal with the bypass key.

PLEASE GO TO A REAL CAR AUDIO SHOP, NOT BEST BUY.

It really has more to do with the place that installs it rather then the product. I have installed all the names mentioned above and they are all good if installed properly. Ask if they use connectors or solder. If they try to hide the brain or just slap it in. Best buy installers are bonused better if they get the car out quick and into the next, an alarm should never be rushed.........
