I may consider getting the amp and sub that was suggested. About the box though, does anyone have a guide on how to make a decent vented box? What is needed other than the MDF board and what tools would I need?

Nope I meant $300.00 exactly!

OK well, I decided to ditch the in-dash screen for now, but just get2 12"Subs in the back in a box. I'm keeping the front Infinity speakers, cuz they work pretty good for now. Can I run my clarion with a sub box in the back without another amp? I'll try to find the amp's wattage if that would help.
I think you would be very satisfied with that setup I listed for $300. You could even build a ported enclosure if you want some pretty heavy bass.

I like that setup PReal...

But do you think I could forget the other amp, use the extra $$$ to buy a second sub and then use the Clarion for the whole system? Then build my own box according to your specifications andmy taste in music.

It's a strong amp...I think it has 4 channels. I'll take pics of it tomorrow.

Oh...and is it wiser to face the subs toward, or away from the driver? I only ask because if I don't do the rear-seat-delete kit then I will have to face the box outwards toward the trunklid right? Sorry...I'm new to all this stuff. Hand me a wrench, just not wire strippers. LOL.

Wait, do you have Infinity component speakers or coaxials now?

Post the model number of the amp yo!

The sub should fire away from the cabin (facing the rear trunklid not seats).

You would really only need the one sub. Better to have one sub and new speakers, than 2 subs and Infinity coaxials [&:].

And if the amp is a 4ch, then you would be better off with ONE sub because you will have to bridge the rear two channels to power the sub. If you add another sub, you will need DOUBLE the power. Are you sure you only want to spend $300? If that amp is a 4ch, and it has sufficient power, I would get the one sub and some new CDT component speakers with SEPARATE tweeters and use the amp to power the whole system. You could build a pretty small enclosure/amp rack with the amp on one side and the sub on the other, then make some carpeted trim panels to make the amp and sub look flushed in.

We really need the specs of the clarion amp before we can recommend anything. A single 12 in a ported box with a decent amount of power should be just as loud as 2 subs with half the power. The two subs thing is really overrated.
