Default ED subs

Hey, I've got a sony 1200 watt amp right now. It says it'll hold 250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms. I want to get these...Elemental Designs 11Ov.2 Subwoofer. Now I know these subs will take more rms than this amp can give them, but do you think it would hurt them to be powered by this amp?

I'm keeping the amp but getting new subs. I listen mostly to rap and want deep bass. They need to be 10' subs. So if you think something else would work better let me know. Thanks.

Get the NINe.1 . There is one on ebay right now for $165. or get it from them in a package form and save some dollars.

The power isn't really too bad for the woofers, 250 is not alot but it's enough for them.

Im more concerned about the distortion that amp puts out when it's being driven hard.

If you use that amp I would look into upgrading in the near, near future. And im not saying buying the NINe.1 or any $365 amp. You can get away with buying a Profile amp which is going to put out it's rated power and going to be much cleaner than that Sony. The Profile amp will cost you between $100-150 depending how much power you want.

Well.... I wasn;t saying you had to spend more, but you definatly can .

What is your max budget, what would you be comfortable spending and what can you easily afford? I would say the easily afford field is in the 100-150 range.

Those profiles will be even cheaper at ikesound and millionbuy so you can get woofersetc.com to match.

thanks guys. I just got the sony amp. it was 179 or so. Is that NINe.2X worth the extra 100 bucks it would cost me to return the sony and get that one?

I don't really want to spend anymore than that. If i just get than NINe.2X and 2 of the 110v.2's Will that sound good and hit hard?

NINe.2x is was made to drive the 110v2's. I would return the Sony regardless.
