Default MTX Custom Sub for 2006 Conv

I want to add a little more bass on my 06 Convertible with a Shaker 500. I see that MTX makes a custom 12' sub enclousure that fits on the passanger side. It comes either with or without a built in 200W amp. $200.00 vrs $400.00 on e-bay. I would like to be able to control the bass from a **** I will install in the center console. Has anybody installed these? How do they sound? Shoulds I go with the built in amp or a external one? I don't want to give anymore room in this tiny trunk it barely fits my golf clubs now.
Thanks

So how about you take up less space than the MTX enclosure even...

If your willing to spend up to $400, you can accomplish this easily. Are you still using your factory cd player? Would you be willing to upgrade it?

And then build your own or take it to your local real car audio shop and have them outfit your car with a small ported enclosure.

Your sitting at $210 so far, that gives them $190 to build something and the cost of wiring and all that, or you can install the wiring, which will save you about $50-75, and just hav them build the box.

Also if you think you need more bass then that, go with two of those woofers and just make a slightly larger sealed enclosure and use this amplifier.
