I have a '04 GT and need to change the rear speakers. Took the head rest portion off (easy) but, how the "*&@%" do you get the carpet cover off of the speakers (rear deck).

you go in from underneath in the trunk, at least you do it that way in my 99. pull out those self retaining screws and you get access to bolts form down there.

did you have fun getting the back screws out of the speaker by the back window?

 

I used a rachet with a phillips end (no problem). The one bit of advice I would give about the speaker deck package, is that you must be patient with working it out of its position. I also have a good link for this project (pictures & everything).
