Default RE: new system install with car pc

I was thinking about installing a car-PC. I just have a few questions about it, do you plug in a HU to it? Or do you run the audio to the HU's Aux?

Also, what O/S are you running on that Car-PC? I saw one that was just audio and no Nav, and it was like $150 bucks! Is there a free one? Preferably with Nav.

One MORE thing, sorry for all the questions, but how are you powering the carputer? Did you strip the wires and run them to your battery and ground it? Or did you buy one of those power converters? If so, how much was the Power converter?

Another thing, if you have a Carputer do you need a HU?

I was thinking of replacing an after-market HU with a CarPuter, and I dunno if the quality isb etter or worse.

P.S. That's a really nice set-up. I think I might steal the placement for the monitor from you! ^-^
Is the monitor detachable? I'd be afraid to get that thing stolen.
