Default need help with fiberglass box..

I've already stretched the fleece over my single 12 box and saturated it with resin. My question is, do I need to do additional layers of fiberglass matt or can I use fiberglass reinforced bondo and just do several layers of that? Needless to say the bondo is gonna be easier to do, but I want it done right. The box is for a 12w3 JL or a Boston Acoustic G2 and about 300 watts. I'm not building anything extreme.. Thanks.

2 solid layers of matting at the minimum. you can bondo resin the rest if you want.

Thanks.. Should I cut the matting up into smaller pieces and apply over all the areas? Should I sand it at all before applying more layers or don't sand until last? Thanks.

sand between layers! it will be hard for the fiberglass to shape out evenly with all those dimples in the previous mat. i would try to keep it all uniform using 1 piece and cutting where neccessary but it most likely wont be enough difference to show if you cut it up.

After you have laid down the mat as instructed by jake, I would definately look over the box and reinforce any areas that get close to flat with a couple more layers of mat.

Thanks for all the info.. Should I sand the initial fleece/resin layer or just subsequent layers of mat? What's the best way to sand, by hand?

everything after the foundation. using a power sander will show swirls, only do it by hand
