Shaker 500 Door Subs
Hello, I was reading an older post with alot of information regarding the Shaker 500 system.
I am about to install a new headunit in my 07 stang with the Shaker 500 and I have the plug and play adapter from Crutchfield. However I've been reading that the door subs run off their own amp, and there is a pre-amp line from them. How do I configure the door subs into my new headunit.
I'm buying the the Pioneer DEH4900 from Crutchfield, it should be here soon and I would like to be ready for it. I also want to mention that I have spent alot of time researching this, but I couldn't find a search button on this forum, so sorry if you guys get this daily.

search is right below the big banner, on the the first of two rows with all the white links (mustang forums, mustang classifieds, photo gallery, calendars, search, live chat, contact mf, sponsors)
or just hit control+F and search for search

Okay so the search didn't show much more than I've already read on this forum. Still though, for anyone who have installed a new HU into the mustangs, how do I wire the door subs into my new headunit?
thx and i'm going to keep searching but an easy answer is always better

i haven't done it yet, but i think the factory amps run off the high level output of the radio. all you need to is use the wire kit from crutchfield and all speakers work, but you will get a pop from the subs because the amps only need 5volts to turn them on and the new hu's remote turn on is 12volts.if you don't like the pop sound then you will want to buy a 5volt regulator from radio shack. again i haven't done it yet, so someone correct me if i'm wrong.
Yeah this is what I read as well. I guess I was asking if there was a certain way to do it.
I should be putting it in soon, and I'm hoping that my headunit (Pioneer 4900) won't create this pop. According to the Specs, the headunit is designed to not have it. We'll See!
