Opinions? Pheonix gold?
You guys shouldn't go making judgements on clarion amps either. Some of the clarion amps made int he 90's were actually built with a zapco board. It made for a very nice amp for a very low price.
I have the ph gold ti 12 sub in my saleen vert and it is bad to the bone ... but the sub alone is around 35 lbs and you need an amp that puts out a lot of power to run it... i'm running old school orion HCCAs amps in my 06

Big magnets are a marketing ploy.
I agree, that is a badddddd sub mang and I am sure it pounds. How is your electrical system with the high current HCCA stuff? That stuff was current hungry like a madman I would think it would be killing your alt.........

Weight tells nothing of SPL or SQ characteristics of a sub. Magnet weight makes a slight differnce, but genereally you are much more limited by spider/suspension travel and VC/magnet interface surface area.
Big magnets are a marketing ploy.
