Hey guys I am looking into installing an avic-d3 in my 08 GT i just picked up on saturday. I have a few questions.

1. How do you remove teh stock head unit.
2. Are there step by step instructions anywhere that I can use.
3. I have Sirius satelite already is this going to cause a problem?
4. Anything else that you can think of that I may not be thinking of

yea i read that post before posting this it didnt really have the information i was looking for but it did have some good stuff that i didnt think about

 

buy a ford head unit puller. you can get knock off ones at most wal-marts. they do the job

 

man, i just had mine apart today adding some stuff, you need to remove the center counsle first, its two philips head screws all the way in the back of the center compartment. then you remove the two side panels, they just pop off with a lil pull. then onto i believe 6, 8mm or 9mm bolts to remove the venter panel, you'll need to disconnect all the harnesses behind there. by now the only thing left should be four more of the same types of screws holding the radio in, then out she comes.

You cannot use your factory sirius with aftermarket units. You will need a new sirius tuner for the pioneer unit. you factory sirius is located in the trunk passenger side wall.
You can use the factory antenna but you have to locate new sirius unit in trunk area.
