Power Wire Into Amp ( Pic Please )
Ran into my first wiring problem, Finished off my Sub box with cloth and went to wire up the subs.
Here is the problem:
Running JL W3's, On each voice coil it has two postive connecting points and 2 Negative connecting points, Their for having 8 connection points on the coils.
On the piece on my Sub box that you put the wire on the terminals inside and then from the outside you hook wire from their to the Amp. That piece only has 4 connection points ( 2 postive and 2 negative )
Pics:
Here is the inside of piece above i described that lets me run wires outside the box and still be sealed. As you see it has 4 connection points

Now here is a pic of one voice coil's connection points. As you see it has a place for 4 wires only. Each sub has two of these. ( Sorry for the blurry pic )

My Idea Of A Fix:
Would it work if on each voice coil i only used one positive connection and one negative connection , Their for being 4 wires total which will work
What do you think?

the sub you have is called a dual voice coil sub(DVC). there are two voice coils in each sub, these are basically the motor in the speaker. A DVC speaker will give you more wiring options as you can put the coils in series or in parallel to get the impedence that your amplifier requres to get max output. One very important rule of a DVC speaker that not too many seem to know is NEVER, EVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERhook up only one voice coil ina DVC speaker.
What kind of amp are you using again and what is the model number of the subs? This will determin how to wire them

Running two JL W3's and a Alpine MRP-F450... All new stuff. Unsure where i can find the model number but here is a link to them on JL's site --- > http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=12
ummm it should have screws where the connections are supposed to go. if not your gonna have to rig something up with a bolt or get creative.
melting a 4g wire on a 200watt amp something was not wired properly as said. even 8 guage is rated to 1200 watts or something. i agree with you though, i use bigger wire wherever permits. like the new amp i bought can only have 4g wire put in the amp, but ive already run a 2guage power wire from the battery and im just gonna get a distributor to split it into 4guage(will add my speaker's amp to the other spot when the time comes). its a safer precaution yes, but if everythings wired properly 4guage will NOT melt from a 200 watt amp.

Heres a pic: The wires are just laid their, I need like a square piece to go connect the power wire unto the Amplifier

I Need two to attach the wires unto the amp And one to attact the power wire unto the battery. Where can i find these, Ebay?? Link if possible
Thanks
You dont need a solid ring connector, the only place I have those in my car is on my battery, as P stated, all you need is a spade connector and make sure you tighten them down snug and your'll be set, dont worry about tighten them down like crazy the last thing you want to do is strip the nut of terminal on that amp, more hair pulling if you do.
