i'm running an extra kinetic 600 battery and my lights still go dim..... but i'm running way more than a thousand watts

I'd personally go with a fitted.
Most thugs tend to keep the bill straight, so I'd consider flat billing it.
Don't forget to kick it a little sideways, gotta keep it real with your homeboyz right?
Sincerely,
Your gangster friend...Hisss.

Any of you guys hear of the Big 4? Some guy listed it in his sig on another site, but i wasn't sure if it was a joke or something.

caps went out with the new millenium. Spend the cash on upgrading a battery and doing a big 3 upgrade and it is $$$ better spent.

1-caps do have a place but only after the first issue has been addressed. Upgrade the battery and alt along with getting the appropriate guage wires for both (+) and grounds - ground cables must be as short as possible.
2- if the dimming still occurs you can then consider caps. In order for caps to be effective there is correct way to implement them. In general 1000µf (1 Farad) for every 1000 watts is adequate. It's also better to go with two smaller caps vs one big cap (e.g. two 500µf caps vs one 1000µf cap). Those of you that really understand what a capdoes will understand why.
3- this is where most people fug up and why caps got a bad rap. The caps should be as close to the amp as possible. Meaning not at the battery of your car, not the distribution block of your amps, or even somewhere in between. 6" or less is ideal. Caps should not be shared for various amps. If you have two 250 watt amps, you will need two 250µf caps. One for each amp. The ground point for each cap should be the same as the ground point for the amp it'sconnected to. Again, if you understand what a cap is and does, you'll know why.
What I usually see people do is buy one or two huge *** caps for their system and just put them somewhere or connect them to the power distribution point. That's why they don't work like they should and they cause the headaches they do.
Not so sure you know what your talking about because...
1,000µf= .001 farad.
1 farad = 1,000,000µf
And caps are still worthless, check any true champions car, whether they do dB drags or SQ competitions. They don't have capacitors for a reason.
