so i was thinking of where i could put my tweeter... and really don't know where to put it.





that's the size of the woofer in comparison to the door. i was thinking of trying to find a way to put it in that side compartment right in the corner and try to get it as close to the speaker as possible. but, i checked behind there and the space would be REALLY tight.

i was also looking at the plastic piece that pops off for the side mirror. but i don't think that's deep enough.

i looked at the kicker panel. i was thinking of installing it at the highest point i could closest to the door as possible and aim it up as much as I could.

would the kicker panel be a good place or is that too low?


edit:: or i could screw a hole right into the door panel next to the woofers on the speaker grille and connect it right to the face.

 

Kick panel would be my vote, it would be the easiest and least damaging to your interior panels.

 

would there be any audible difference between mounting it somewhere else?

 

Closer to your mid, the better.

I just screwed my tweeter in the kick panel of my escort right at the top corner, imaging was pretty good and it was simple as can be mounting it there. Mounted the crossovers behind the kick panel and only have to run about 12" to the tweeter and only had to run the one wire to the mid through the door grommet, which can be a pain at times.

 

yeah it was.
my speakers are already set-up right, but i blew them 'cause i didn't have the tweeters hooked up so the imp. was off.

anyway, i'll put it on the kick panel and do the same: put the xover on the kickpanel, too.
