I just bought a 2005 gt convertible last week and I've noticed that when listening to cds that are mixed with split tracks, there is a pause inbetween the tracks so it doesn't mix the songs together from track to track....has anyone noticed this and is there a way to disable that pause? It's very annoying since 95% of what I listen to is mixes.

Also, in the menu, there is a compression option/function. Does anyone know what it does? Thanks for your help guys.

 

there is no way to turn it off.

It is a digital compression that was big for a while. My 97 ranger has it and it makes some difference in some songs and nothing in others. Now what exactly it does ya got me...

Don't worry the good news is that the stock radios do not last long so you can pick one that doesn't do it and we will be happy to help ya install it.

 

lol, great. I don't want to rip the car apart yet, but the fact that I can't listen to mixes is ridiculous. I have a pioneer avic-n2 that I took from my old car but that thing is such a pain in the *** to install.

nah, I put it up on craigslist. The problem with it is that its not a double din like the shaker 500 so I don't know how i can make it fit

 

you need to buy a new dash piece and bolt it in. You could get one cheap from a boneyard probably for a little more then the price of a kit.
