Default Need help with a 130 amp alt swap!

Iam almostdone!the bracket has been modified, a stator plug has been purchased and the stator wire has been spliced, the 4 gauge wire has been run throught the engine bay with a 150a fuse protecting the connection... Now! the only problem I have is I dont now where to connect the 4 gauge wire on the starter solenoid, all the online directions I have found say connect to the battery side on the solenoid. I havevery little automotive experience and having gotten this far on my own is huge...So please understandwhere my confusion and frustrationlie! do they mean:

1. Connect to the solenoidstud that the battery wire goes into.
OR
2. Connect to the solenoid stud closest to the battery

I don't think it matters. All a solenoid is a big relay/switch so it should not matter which side goes to the batter or the starter. For simplicity sake by battery side I think they mean the side phisically closer to the battery. I replaced the solenoid in my truck and didn't pay any attention to it but honestly I think your question would be better answered in the 5.0 section. We do not get much of alt questions on here.
