Mach 460 Aux Input
Is there perhaps an auxilary input on either the back of the head unit or the amp of the stock Mach 460 system? I hope to hook up my Zune MP3 player, even though I know it won't charge or work with the radio controls.
I don't remember where for sure, but I recall hearing a while back that it is possible. I myself have a little bit of doubt, but I figured I'd ask before giving up.
Straight up and simple: Is there an aux input somewhere in the car?
If not, what are my options as far as getting quality sound from my MP3 player? I'd like to keep it simple and cheap, as in I'd prefer not to replace the head unit.
Thanks in advance.

It has a 6 disc in-dash cd changer.
That means no?
Or by extra do you mean a separate cd changer in the trunk or something?
I just looked at the related threads and saw that the USA-SPEC product does work with the cd changer. Can anyone confirm this? (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-D4prF4L...amp;i=581DFF20)

Any specifics that you had in mind? I looked at everything I'd want. That includes the device I linked to ($80), a portable amp by Boostaroo ($30) and the necessary cord ($10 maybe). $120 estimated plus shippingseems doable, butI'm always in favor of saving money.
If your willing to spend $120 you could just change your headunit to a simple Sony Xplod h/u, even though you said didnt want to you should consider it. You will not only have aux inputs and rca outs but you can shape your sound with the EQ and also your stock speakers will sound better due to the more amount of power going to them.
between stock equipment and explode, I will explode........
Audiovox makes a good fm mod for this. I do not have model numbers for you but if you do a search I am sure you will find an article another member did on it.

I assume that is what you are talking about. What kind of sound quality could I expect from a setup like this? To be honest, I'm a little skeptical to rely on anything radio. But if it can save me $30+ for comparable sound, I suppose I'd look into it.
Thanks for the suggestion apolnerow08, but I don't really care to replace the head unit. In my opinion, all aftermarkets are too flashy andpoorly integrated.

that is perfect. On that one you will disconnect the factory antenna from the radio and plug it into that box. You then take the antenna that comes off of that and plug it into the radio. When you turn it on, it turns off the external antenna and feeds your audio signal directly into the radio. It will sound like a perfecly clear radio station that never goes out of signal and would be suprised if you are not happy with it.
Alrighty then. A couple more questions and I think I'm set.
I notice that most stations use compression that kinda flattens the gain range. Will this do the same thing (blur quiet parts of the songwith loud ones)?
And finally, would you for sure suggest this over paying the extra $30 for the USA-SPEC thing that I mentioned earlier?
I'm trying to think of any other questions I might have to ask later, just to avoid pissing people off by dragging this thread any longer.. Anything else I should know about it? Sounds to be decent.
