go with the W3 you will be vey happy wen you can turn it all the way up with no distortion, menphis , audioque, and fi, arnt going to sound as "clean" they are louder however, W3's will be very clean and perform very good as far as Spl goes, i would get a better box, one thats ported and tuned, im getting this guy - ecce@mertrocast.com to build be a custom box for my 2 W612's
I would like to know where your getting your information for this bold statement?

The problem is that if you ignore it, then somebody else who doesn't know and is trying to learn, will take this incorrect information as truth, perpetuating the cycle of missinformation. To me the whole "A-cap-really-helps" debacle, and how to set gains properly are my personal crusades...

This is actually one of the better forums that I've seen as far as members being knowledgeable about the subject, but remember; with great power comes great responsability. [8D]

+1

We did an experiment where we directly replaced a Memphis "mojo" with a 12w3 and while it was not quite as loud, it was more precise bass which sounded better. JL subs can definitely put out but their specialty is definitely sound quality over pure noise.

I hate to say it but compairing a MOJO to a 12w3 is like compairing apples to cows, there two drivers buildfor compleatly different purposes. You wouldn't compair atop fuel dragster to a focus would you?Dont get me wrong JL make a good product but i just cant stand it when people claim they make the best equipment out there because its the most expensive thing in Crutchfield. And again i'm not saying thats what your claming its just a pet peev of mine. For as many years as ive been in audio this is the statment ive heard the most, it makes me wish the general "consumer" population wouldn't be so brainwashed...

First of all thanks a bunch for the welcome, and i understand the ignoring part, but like Spyder said some peoplemight take his opinion seriously and could lead to some costly mistakes.I'll try and be as helpfull as possible here at the forums. I do have a lot of experience in the audio world, just try'n to share the Knowledge.

I worked as an installer for about 5 years, up untill the doors closed at our shop justa few weeks ago.Up untill last year the shop and some dedicated customerswereall avid Usaci competitors. We got a bunch of trophies and evenplaced 5that world finals.I'm partial to companies that really aren't main stream or widely known but make solid products. AQ, DD, FI, RE US Amps, SSA, Acendant audio, Cactus sounds, DC audio, Treo, Incriminator audio, just to name a few.I like all aspects of car audio from all out SPL to the flatest SQ setups. I like things to be cleen but needs to make some noise. My biggest disslike inaudio is when people half *** thing cause they just dont care, or dont know better. I've always tried to help everyone interested or willing to take advice. I would consider myself and exelent fiberglass'er and and even better box designer/ fabricator. And i hope i can bring some knowledge to the forums and help out as much as i can.
