I worked as an installer for about 5 years, up untill the doors closed at our shop justa few weeks ago.Up untill last year the shop and some dedicated customerswereall avid Usaci competitors. We got a bunch of trophies and evenplaced 5that world finals.I'm partial to companies that really aren't main stream or widely known but make solid products. AQ, DD, FI, RE US Amps, SSA, Acendant audio, Cactus sounds, DC audio, Treo, Incriminator audio, just to name a few.I like all aspects of car audio from all out SPL to the flatest SQ setups. I like things to be cleen but needs to make some noise. My biggest disslike inaudio is when people half *** thing cause they just dont care, or dont know better. I've always tried to help everyone interested or willing to take advice. I would consider myself and exelent fiberglass'er and and even better box designer/ fabricator. And i hope i can bring some knowledge to the forums and help out as much as i can.
Excellent, I look forward to picking up on some things from you as well as helping out along side you.

You remind me alot of scott-ttocs. Lots of install and fab experience.

YEAY!!!

I haven't posted a lot in the last month, but welcome. We could use another knowledgeable person to fend off the Best buy, circut city, alpine type R, JL audio people.

It is ashamed what has happened to RE in the last couple years, at least Fi is up and coming...

YA the shop closing was a real bummer but i guess it could be worse, I guess there was an issue with the building owner but i'm not sure as to the whole story. The worst part is I have to pay retail for stuff now! and i just sold most all of my equipment.

Your an audio junky. And you build custom speaker boxes.

Sorry if I were a kid in here looking for help I would question taking advise from someone with that many errors in one sentence.

We bash Type-R's alot because they are not worth the price tag. the sound ok, and can get decently loud. But people post about them in here like they are what God has in his trunk. If I found a pair for say under $130, I would probably buy them.

Word.

There was a huge post a coupleyears ago becuase some morons were stating it as fact that the Type R was the greatest sub ever.

For the price most pay at best buy you can do 100% better.

Good eye,i broke one of the 2 golden rules, dont drink and drive anddont drink and type... lol

I definatly understand about the Type R hype. I think it paints the mental picture of the best thing you can get because alpine makes itand is soldby crutchfield, so it must be the greatest thing since the individually wrapped cheese slice, and we all know crutchfieldis god when it comes to audio....

I agree they have a broad selection, decent prices, and definatly are the most authorized dealer for alot of manufacturers online.

I don't think they have ever been the first place I have checked out when in the market for something. Good place for alot of big name audio and comparing things side by side as well.

I had one experience with crutchfield over 10yrs ago when I ordered an alarm from them. This was actually before I started installing fulltime and was working in my garage. I ordered a 2 stage shock sensor(an option at that time) and then spent all day trying to get it to work with them swearing they are compatable before I finally noticed in the instructions of the shock sensor that it said that it was not compatible.... I have bought just as much gear from them as I have best buy since they both p'sed me off
