stupid 6 Disc
So i got the stupid "CD ERROR" on the Mach CD-6. The changer was full at the time, so i pulled it out, took it apart and pulled all the discs out.
Well it still thinks that the discs are full.
I tried everything i could to get it to reset the memory.
A used changer was ordered, and i swapped it out with the old one. Well the new one still thinks it has discs in it too!
I've disconnected the battery, pulled the radio, and it still wont clear the memory out of the damn thing!!! How do i totally clear the F'er out and start from srcatch? Does it store all the settings somewhere else? I've disconnected the battery, and made sure all the voltage was out of the system, but it still keeps the radio presets and time!

Lol. unfortunately he is right. Once your CD-6 starts acting up, it's really not much you can do. Where I work thats the most common problem. Sorry to tell you but ford just did not make a good reliable CD player. The best thing you could do is as said. Just get you a good reliable aftermarket CD player for your car. You won't be disappointed.
not trying to **** ya off but there honestly is NO way to fix this other then replacing it. You can keep buyin new ones if you want but you will only continue to prove my point. You might think as do most shops that you can't work with the mach systems and can't replace only one part and it is not true. Again, be MORE then happy to help you replace it, page 2 of my cardomain page is dedicated to replacing a deck in the mach system.
