Default Amp problems

Hey I just set up a sound system in my 1996mustang and I believe my amp is staying on even after my car is off, and that is draining my battery. I had my battery and alt tested and both are still good. So I'm not sure why my battery is dieing then.

My power light on my amp does stay on after I turn my car off so that's why I think it's drain the battery. I have a 600w amp with two 10" subs. I have the power connecting to the pos. part of the battery, ground to the frame of the car, and the blue little wire i have it connecting to the fuse box under the hood.

So if anyone can help me with this problem that would be awesome. I'm sick of jumping my car off my wife's car to get it going. If you need more information let me know thanks.

Sounds like you wired the remote turn on wire to a constant source of current. That's why your amp stays on. Ideally, you should connect it to an ACC wire (Accesories that only turn on when the ignition is switched on...). I've always liked the cigarrete lighter cable for a quick and simple install...

The best way is to connect it to the Acc fuse. I've herd it also works to connect it to the power antenna wire which is pink/black so the amp only turns on when the head unit is on. You could also get an after market head unit with the remote connection in the back.

HA HA A HAH AH AH AH AHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

dude you are making this harder then I thought when you keep one-upping yourself..

If you hook it up to the power antenna, it will work great with the radio on, but not on cd.... Not to mention that I really wantyou to find a power antenna, or a power antenna wire in mustang...
