Alright another Houston Area Member!!!

I'm down in Katy and there are a couple shops I have visited but I haven't seen the fruit of thier labor. At least they sell DD, Zapco and a couple other high end names. Great guys too. I don't shop there much but he gave me some fuses once for free.

I would look into AudioQue. They make one hell of a product and have exelent customer service.

An HDC3 10 or 12 would be a good woofer choice (with the copper voice coils)
http://www.audioque.com/aq/HDCSeries.htm

And for an amp you could go with the aq1200d if you eanted to stick with the same company

Also as PReal said FI makes a very nice woofer and eD is a good reputible company as well. These i would say are 3 companied witch you can call and order directly from them and will be very helpfull in seting you twards a good purchase. Now the sub amd amp will only bring you so far, you'll need a few other items to get you booming. but i would look into a custom box for your sub, that will determine 80% of your sub stages output. My motto is "80% install, 15% product, and 5% whiskey"
