Default shaker 500 door sub replacement

as you know, the shaker 500 has 2 8" door subs, shallow i assume. can you replace these with aftermarket subs or would you need an amp, or would the factory amp be enough

ok, maybe i will ask somebody that would be more helpful. i searched crutchfield for shallow 8" and it came up with one, a kicker i think. i am not sure about ohms. what is the factory ford. or can somebody give me a part number to the rockfords that seems to be a popular replacement. thanks

i did a little searching on the forums and never did find how many ohms the factory subs were, or how many watts the 500 system pushes to those subs

I believe I read somewhere on this forum that the subs were 8 Ohms while the 6 x 8's are 4 ohms, but I don't know for a fact about the subs. You can use the search function.(My 6 x 8's are 4 ohms in my car).

The subs are 8ohms. You will not be able to drop an aftermarket sub in there without frying the amplifier.

hmm, well scratch that idea. the whole reasoning behind it was because the factory subs are produce a nasty rattle, and its annoying, and its far from max bass too. thanks for letting me know before i went to best buy and just started buying away
