No sound from driver's side speakers

Well you disconnected it right? You need to unplug the wires coming out the the amp going to any of the factory speakers.

you will need to disconnect the facgtory speaker wire going to the speakers. The only wire connected to it should be from teh amps outputs.
Well I have more info, but no solution. I managed to get the deck itself out, I hooked a test speaker directly up to the wires that go to the drivers side speakers and they're all good. But when I hook up the test speaker to the rear speaker in the back there's nothing. I tested the rear drivers speaker with the wires from the passenger side and the speaker is fine. So I think I can assume both speakers are fine and the amp in the deck isn't blown. So my problem is somewhere between the amp and the speaker and was created by hooking the speaker up to the amp for a split second ( a few times). All I can think of is maybe too much current went through the wire and melted the wire, creating an open circuit. If they melted and created a short circuit, the test speaker would not have turned on when I connected it directly to the amp, correct? There wouldn't be any sort of circuit breaker or anything along the speaker wires would there?
Yes, I was able to figure that out when it would make the loud thumping sound. That's why I gave up on that idea. But what I can't figure out now is what damage it did to the system to cause both left side speakers to stop working.
Come on, where's all the sound genius' here?? I know some of you guys really know your ****. Noone has any ideas or solutions? Im hoping I don't have to follow the wires all the way from the speakers to the deck.. If I do have, does anyone know where the wires travel exactly, or where I would be able to get to them easily.
I don't want to be rude but need to be honest. The pics of the wiring you showed are pretty scary if you really did hook one speaker up to two different audio sources the way it looks. If you were to bring the car to me today to fix it I would start by pulling out everything and starting fresh so that I could be sure that it would be done right so I don't even know where to begin to tell you to start.....
If you did hook the two sources(deck and amp) together you probably did some damage to something somewhere so you really need to start off by having your equipment bench tested to see if it still works. Did you do this alone or with any help from friends? I have seen alot of people have their buddys "help" install a fire hazard in their car.

The wires were all there before I started. The last owner took out his amp and subs and left all the wiring. He was even nice enough to put a baggy over the power wire so it owuldnt spark with the other wires, as he said. So first thing I did was take out the inline fuse under the hood. And everything is wired correctly now, the only thing I did wrong was hook the speaker up to the amp while it was still connected to the deck. I know this was a bad idea. I have already tested that the speakers are fine, and the deck is fine. Somewhere along the speaker wires from the deck to the speakers lies my issue. I just dont know how I am going to find it... And I did this alone. I know how to wire up a basic stereo, I just have never had more than a sub hooked up to the amp, and I assumed the last owner had the speakers hooked up to his amp since he had the wires for itand he didnt have the Rear output RCAs plugged in, so i figured I'd give it a shot. Bad idea.
Well incase any one is curious I fixed the problem. It turned out to be a pretty obvious and simple problem and Im quite surprised no one here could figure it out. The stock amplifier was shot on one side. I talked to a guy who installs car audio stuff at a shop in town and right away he called it. He ordered me in a harness to bypass it, but it was on back order. So I took out the broken stock amp, unsoldered the plugs, wired them together and plugged it back in. Problem solved.
you had the stock mach amps feeding your inputs to your amp? That is such a bad mistake I would have not even considered it but it would have only take a second in person...
I would really be carefull in the future when you are working on your stereo. You can do damage to the equipment or worse the car with a simple stereo install.
