1) not the mach stereo.
2) the stock amp is wired up such that the speaker wires in the deck harness run back to the stock amp, then output to the speakers. All I did was hook up the inputs and outputs of the stock amp together, so that the wires from the deck run straight to the speakers, eliminating the stock amp.

Have same driver side no sound on my 03 gt, sail panel tweeter started crackling off and on then whole side went dead over time. Going to replace tweeter, figers crossed bad tweeter is stopping flow to rear, amp then front lower door.
