i am in the process of building an amp andcap rack to fit the left hand side of my trunk and a stealth box to hold one 10" sub (either JL10w3v2 or Alpine Type-R, not sure which but i have 2 of each sitting in my garage) using this set up to maintain the use of my trunk.

Amp is Alpine v12 1200watt mono block

Capacitor is Rockford Fosgate digital 1.5 farad

Replaced all mids and highs with pioneer 6x8's

Also running a Pioneer DEH-6000UB head unit.

Should be done this weekend wrapping and deciding on which sub to go with. I'll post pics for ideas after that
Don't buy that system. Pioneerequipment isterrible except for the REV series comps and coax's. Caps are paper weights and have no place in car audio. Alpine amps are nice, but you can do better for the money.

With around $800 you can do much much better.

One more question. Do you already have an aftermarket HU? Do you want one?
yes, i already have this system and have had it all but the HU for a couple years now...i had it all set upbut it took up my entire trunk, just rebuilding box and rack to maximize space...

also, how can you say that caps are a waste in a system? I went through an alternator and battery already in this car, replaced alternator with stock, upgraded the battery, and slapped in a cap and never had another problem

same with my comp truck i used to have..went through 7 batteries and 5 alternators on that one before putting caps on the amps...no more problems there either

i will admit that the pioneer mids and highs arent quite up to par but for the money, they sound good...just waiting till i save up the money for that new JL component series they are selling but they are around $800/pair

The type of capacitators You are trying to use are worthless in the car audio scheme of things.

Research, come back, and reply with Your apology to all You have offended.

Edit: You will never have a bad system with only $800.00

Wow, you have gone off the deep end twice in one page ( I bet the reply to this will be your third!)

You seem to have anger managment issues man. The firt guy was joking with you and you blew up at him? The another was talking about the capacitor post hand again you drive off the deep end. Chill dude!

I have many years in the mobile electronics industry and would love to help you, but you need to calm down or everyone is just going to think you are that kid with a temper tantrum.

Bye the way, PReal seems to be very knowledgalbe as I have seen numerous posts from him suggesting the same thing I would say. ( I assume he has done this for a while himself)

If you are looking for a truely custom box (i.e. fiberglass) that will take close to half of the $800 budget so just be aware it can get pricey fast. But if you are conservitive, you can get a clean system for around the $800 mark

dude this is not a place for newbs that want to start to learn and cannot take some constructive critisism. I have compaired this site to asking your big brother for help while he is busy getting ready for a date with little-miss-sally-rotten-crotch. He will probably take a quick look, and give you some help as what to do but if you do not have all the right parts, say or asksomething stupid you can expect to get called a moron, given a wedgie, and called a wuss if you start to cry from it....

Unfortunatly this is a common welcome to the forum, so let me be the first to officially welcome you to the audio forum. If you are looking for a better place to learn and ask basic questions let me know and I will direct you.

Do you need an HU? (CD Player)

If you need one of those as well it is going to be impossible to put together a badass system. With that budget you could get good sound and plenty of volume, but a couple hundred more would be great.

A couple of us (ttocs, hiss, seight, disturbedand a couple others) have put together systems for people who have purchased them and been very satisfied. If some of us get a little frustrated, you have to realize that every day we get people that think their system is the best ever becuase they have an alpine type R and some coax's. It is a constant battle to fight off the ignorant that hurt the credibility of the information we provide here.

You're probably one of those guys who get their jollies from that chocolate rain video, aren't You?

You are too inept and ignorant to be worth my time of arguing with.

Especially if Your simple mind can't even decide when someone is replying to You, or to someone else.

Hence my reply being to Mac, and not You, detective.
