Default small speaker problem

Ok I have some new kicker 6X8s I put in my car like 8 months ago, and I just added a 4 channel amp to them a few weeks ago. Today I can hear a ground loop whine coming from my speakers, and my passenger left speaker quite working. I am going to take the door apart tomorrow and hope that just one of the wires came loose and that the speaker isn't blown. But if it is blown, I'm going to get a nice set of components and just build a plate for them to fit in the 6x8 spot. Does anyone have a good site for some 6.5 components?

Hopefully your speakers aren't blown, but if they are, here's a set of components you could get. I happen to like Alpine though...

Or if you want to spend a little more money....

If you cannot hear them it is usually not a blown speaker if it just stoped working out of the blue.

The reason you have ground whine is the fact your RCA is to close to your power wire or another high current wire. Move the RCA's and you should eliminate the whine.

Ok just took the door apart, one of my connections came loose so thats why the speaker wasn't working, so that problem is fixed. I did run all 6 of my rca's away from all power wires I even went as far as running them under the driver seat so they wouldn't get wrapped around my ignition harness wires and other factory hot wires. I think my ground might have come loose. So I will put like 3 screws in it to secure it more.

What are some other component speaker sites, like offbrand ones that I wouldn't know about. I know seight and ttocs know of some other brands...not kicker, alpine, infinity, pioneer, etc.

the alternator noise could be from any number of problems but as usual start simple and work your way up. Where is it grounded at? did you scrape the paint off of the metal and can you wiggle the connection at all?

give a list of all the componants in the stereo.

I am not a product guy man. You will never see me more lost then if you were to catch me up on the sales floor trying to answer customers questions.... I am the wrench in the shop and because of this I tend to balence my opinions on perfomance and longterm reliability and do not pay attention to price.... Asking us what sounds good is kinda like asking us what pizza we like, it is a personal preferance and what I like you may not. The best way to find out what sounds the best(to you and only you) is to listen to alot of speakers. Take a few of your favorite cds and and take anafternoon to hit all of your local shops to listen to all of their speakers. It will not take long before you find out what you like and do not like but that info is invaluable since it is what is pertinant to you. I would be happy to tell you if something you though sounded good was a POS but unless you are ready to talk about brands such as Focal, dynaudio,or on the low end diamond audioor cdt I really can'tguranteeyou what will like the sound of.
