I disagree. There is a hrns in there, two actually. The wires that your wires are taped(and hopefully soldered to) are the same color as the wires comming out of the deck. The factory wires are NEVER the same color. There is alot of wiring that they had to hide so the hrns's may be buried in there but they are there.

if the blue wires are connected, then lets go back to a step that we probably should have done. Have you checked fuses? I don't know which one and nobody on here does either.... Don't pull out your manual, just go to the fuse box and start pulling and checkin them one at a time. There are less then a dozen fuses in there, it will take you less time to check all of them then it will to use your manual to try and find the right one. IF they are all good under the dash then check the fuse box by the battery.

If all the fuses are good them we will need to make sure the deck is putting out voltage on the remote wire. Do you have and know how to use a voltmeter?

What are the rca cables hooked up to?

No fuses are blown, either indash or by the battery. I took a couple electrical engineering classes so I kind of know how to use a voltmeter in a very simple circuit and I might be able to get a hold of one. At this point I havent checked where the rca's go, but I was told they go to the smaller hrns like in your cardomain explanation.

got tired of hearing the rattling huh?

eng classes, oh no, you might be beyond help already lol(technician humor). See if anyone you know has a volt meter or test light. If not you can get them for $10 if you look around. Check to see if you have power on the blue wires with the deck on.

I'll see what I can do, but its starting to seem like the install technician was right. In the meantime what about the lack of radio signal and the loose illumination wire? Where is the other end of the illumination wire likely to be? What should I check for theantenna to plug back in? This is really getting old not having any bass so I want to wrap this up lol.
