Coax Speakers in an Enclosure?
Hey, thinking about buying some Alpine 5x7s but I want to know if I could mount them in the rear enclosure. BTW, I have an 02 mustang with mach 460. Just asking because I don't know if normal speakers are meant to be in an enclosure... Well, lemme know what you think, thanks.

I would use screws rather then duct tape.........
You will need to have an aftermarket deck to push them, and you will need to bypass the factory amp. I show how to bypass the amp on page 2 of my cardomain page withthe bypass hrns I point to.

Lol, dang, always liked using duct tape.... JK, anyways, I have an aftermarket deck and an amp to power the new speakers if I get some. I just wanted to know if putting them in the stock woofer enclosure would cause them to distort or something because of the lack of air. BTW, 02 Mustang with Mach 460.

You will not be able to do it with the stock deck since you are replacing an 8 ohm woofer with a 4ohm full range driver. If you replace the deck and then bypass the amp then yes you can do it and it will not hurt anything.
