How do you??? UPDATE SEE LAST POST
I don't know of anyone that makes it with a 2 awg but all it is is a piece of wire and a couple of ring terminals. The part you will have problems with is getting a 2 awg ring terminal on the post on the back of the alt, 4 awg stretches it a little bit but you don't really need 2 awg. The factory route goes across the top of the engine, right being the dist. The dist is a great place for a power cable to pick up noise(high voltage to the spark plugs) so I routed mine from the alt to the passenger side fender, then forward and across the radiator to the battery to keep away from the alt.

I purchased my diamond amps over JL audio amps at the time. I got more power, equal reliability and better looks. I'd love to see some birthsheets or amp tests you've done to prove diamond amps suck.
You have never heard of DLS. I bet you think that JL makes the best speakers, amps and subs on the planet.
No one needs a cap regardless of battery. They cause more drain on the alt and are nothing more then a huge marketing scam.
Please explain how to make two DVC 4 ohm woofers wire down to 2 ohms.
Sensitivity is very important. Every 3 DB of efficiency increase saves you double the amp power to get the same amount of sound.
I need to get to helping the OP now, I'm tired and he wants good information.

1. Don't buy anything Diamond Audio online, they don't allow it and won't warranty
2. Diamond amps suck, period. (their speakers are friggin awesome though, I love mine)
3. Never heard of DLS, but see how much airspace they need for what you wanna do.
4. Volfenhag is crap, stay away. Buy an Optima yellow top and you won't need the cap.
5. Any of the door speakers you picked are good for the money, but I'd get the Boston's or JL's over the Focals. Focals are awesome, but not their lower level, the $1800 3-way component set is UNREAL. Also, get 6 1/2's not 5x7's, and make adapters from 1/4 mdf. The 6 1/2's have better sound.
6. Don't buy a diamond amp! lol
7. If you're running 2 subs, buy dual voice coil 4 ohm speakers. That way you can run them at 4, 2, or 1 ohm. Makes amp selection much more flexible.
I'd recommend Some 10" JLW3's in a ported box, with a JL/Alpine 500w 2-channel d-class amp. A mono is a 1-channel sub amp. (2 channel can be bridged and will be more flexible.
JL/Boston/Alpine 6 1/2" door speakers on either an Alpine or JL 250w 4-channel will be plenty for good quality sound.
Don't try to figure out sensitivity, it's not worth it lol.

If you knew how to read you would see that I recommend diamond and focal speakers, alpine amps and jl subs for a decent system. There's probably over 500 different sub manufacturers out there, and I don't expect to know them all, much less be completely familiar with all aspects of all of their equipment, you just must think you are gods gift to the lame *** field of car audio, what a loser
And if you've never heard of connecting wires series parallel, then maybe you shouldn't be giving out advice at all.
BTW, how did you get your post count, I'm guessing about 1500 "+1's".
Don't talk **** to me unless you plan to back it up with more than a keyboard.
Welcome to the audio forum. Your are obviously not here much if you thing that real doesn't understand series parallel, but I will argue that Diamond amps are good for both performance and SQ and be happy to demo my D9s for you any time.
Any reason you want to come on and start a fight with one of our helpfull locals? I know him and his experience maybe you would like to tell us a little about yourself so that we know that you have done more then read crutchfield from front to back?
No reason to be like that man. Not sure why post counts matter? they only really matter to the people that care, and the people that seem to care often don't matter...

Thanks scott.
Back to you ryan.
I had a longreply and then lost connection and my post. (I'm in the middle of the gulf right now)
Diamond D9 amps are some of the greatest ever. If you have never heard of them, you need to do a little more research before you bash them. They were not originally a diamond design, but few people actually design amps. Have you ever heard of zed audio or any of the amps he has designed for any number of companies. Also, you realize that a cerwin vega exl 4 channel features basically the same circuitry as an arc audio model for a quarter the price...
I have helped numberous people on this site and have not had a single negative feedback on a system component I have recommended. I learned the hard way about audio by wasteing money based on people's opinions that only knew the brands the local audio shop carried. (sounds like you are in this catagory)
Please explain how to get a 2 ohm load from 2 dvc 4 ohm speakers. It is impossible.

I have diamond audio in my fukking car! What don't you get. I am speaking from first hand experience.
And I'll have you know that I did car audio for a living, so I speak from complete experience.

You can yell and cuss all you want but until you show that you have a little experience and knowledge you are no better then the wally world kid, and will be treated as such. If you don't like being treated like that, and do not want to prove that you know a little bit, maybe you should thing about buyin a camaro to match yer mullet?
Listen guys, take it easy on Ryan, I sent him a PM asking him to give me some advice in this thread because he's proven, on many circumstances, to be a very knowledgeable member. Remember, very rarely will we all agree on a product line, and it's quality, however after doing some research I decided that Diamond would not be the best way for me to go, I read up that several people have had problems with their products, and more specifically the warranty, I'm sorry, but I'm not paying $500+ for an amp just to have a warranty because I'll have to go to a verified dealer. Still waiting on the parts so I'll let you guys know how things go with what I picked out, but I'm 90% sure that I'll be getting the Polk Audio Momo's later this week.
your acting like real and I are yelling and cursing, calling peoples opinions worthless? We did challenge him, but we never once acted like a jr high student........ I looked over a couple of his posts and I am not sure what his deal is? We have a hard time with kids acting like they know what they are talking about and giving alot of bad info on here, and so far he has not shown he is any better then them. He has a high post count but is new on the audio forum. If you are comfortable taking advise from him then go for it but if it goes wrong later you better hope he can help you.
I still would like to know "making a living" means and consider HIS opinions worthless until he showes he knows more the the wally world drop out.In reality though it is not like I need advise so it really doesn't matter to me.....

ttocs, who the **** are you to call me a kid. You don't even know me, yet you think you're somehow better than me and your opinion matters more, you JUST jumped on this thread to stir the pot. I'm not trying to prove anything to you. I guess this must be you "turf" or something, and you got intimidated by someone else answering questions before you got to bump your post count.
I was more than satisfied with Real's explanation for the way that last post came off, because I know how ****ty the internet can be since I also work offshore, I was just trying to illustrate a point that somehow got lost in translation. At least until you felt your 2 cents was worth throwing in to this $5 conversation. Hell you yourself sound like you may have POSSIBLY got out of HS maybe a month ago. What are you friggin 17, I've been doing this stuff for 12 years and I don't need some little internet badass coming on here and acting like I'm trying to screw someone over when I am just giving my opinion AFTER I WAS ASKED FOR IT, you may try waiting to do the same, instead of jsut spouting off when you think no one will hear you or call you on it.
Heaven forbid if regardless of how nice I think Diamond Audio subs sound, I will NEVER buy another set. When I first bought diamond, probably when you were still in diapers, I had the subs, components, and amps. The work was actually done by me and some friends who were featured on Diamond's website back in the day. I originally bought 2 M6 10's and a DB1000, along with M6 6 1/2 components with the 1 1/2" tweeters, I can't recall the amp or head unit model numbers, but they were alpine. After going through over a dozen replacement subs at $36 shipping each, I finally got the "new design" M6 and didn't have any problems for almost 6 months. Yeah, it's great they havea 3 years warranty, and yes they are the BEST sounding subs I have ever heard, but it does me no good when every 2 months I' getting a new set and waiting 2 weeks for them to show up. All the great things in the world i can say about their subs, doesn't amke up for all that crap I had to go through. I'm now set on Focal Utopia's, I don't care about slamming bass, and I never really have, it was just a fun thing to have as extra. I've always had QUALITY sound. The system that is slowly replacing my Diamonds/alipine/JL/kicker(only because the kickers were free on a sponsorship) I hate kickers and think they sound like ***. My new system will be the new compact Alpine amps, with Focal 3-way components, and maybe 1 10" sub in a focal box, but tucked away neatly in an inlay, purely because of the quality of sound that they always strive to produce. Have you ever even heard a Focal speaker in a properly set up vehicle? You probably think JBL and MB quarts are really good though right?

Scott (Has been installing for what, around 15 years)
Diamond featured any customer car on the site a while back, all you had to do was submit your pictures.
You haven't helped anyone yet.
You haven't proved why diamond amps suck. (Amps are not subjective like SQ, their output, distortion, and reliabilityare documentable and therefore objective)
Besides Utopias, I think focals are overrated pieces of garbage. I also think all of the diamond sub lines except for the TDX aren't that great. All diamond subs can be outperformed for the money.
You still haven't explained why using a board designed outside your company is wrong. (Ever heard of Zed audio)
jthorn,
Polk momo's are ok comps, but are not even in the same ballpark as the other brands mentioned. If you are lowering your budget I understand, but before you get the momo's check out some CDT comps at woofersetc. They will grossly outperform the momo's in every way.
