Default SAT interface

I just picked up another ride to keep some of the miles off my Stang. I bought an '05 Ford Sport Trac. The stock radio is very nice and it is SAT ready, but the owners manual states to check with your dealership for the hook up kit. I was at the dealership and they want $330.00 for the interface/ant/cables to use my factory radio. I can pick up a decent aftermarket H/U and SAT module for just a few Bucks more.

The factory radio in this truck is a AM/FM/single CD/MP3/SAT ready. Is there any other source to find the SAT module to hook to this radio with out spending an Arm and a Leg?? I called Circuit City, but they were not sure; I also looked on eBay and all I could find there was the Ipod interface. Any info will be appreciated...........Thanks

That is the interface you need for your factory deck. Just check the compatibility chart to make sure it works, even tho your factory deck has the sat button it still may not work, but just check that out. Install on that should only be around 40-60 bucks.

Thanks guys....I guess I should have specified that I have Sirius allready in my Stang, so I would need a Sirius interface. Circuit city did have a universal that they said would fit, but who knows. The help at this particular store have not been too helpful with questions in the past, so I don't really trust them. I will follow the link in GTRedfire03's post, but from the title it looks like it is more for XM. Thanks for the responses.

Well I called "My radio store" and they suggested picking up the Sirius SC-C1 universal receivers car kit. He felt this should work for me. Circuit city has this product in stock, so I may give it a try. I have to find some of Ford's OEM radio pins to remove my radio and then I will se what type of plug is in the back. If this kit works it will only cost me $50 to hook up plus a monthly add on second subscription. If this is it the dealership should be arrested for the price they wanted to charge me...$330.00???

Well, my fears were correct. I just talked to Sirius and they suggested talking to TSS-Radio. I give them a call and he said that this particular unit has to be purchased from the dealership. I will not pay $330.00 for something that will only work on one radio. If something happens to the factory H/U I am up the creek without a paddle. My only option is to go aftermarket. I will probably go with the Pioneer DEH-8000 with the Sirius Pioneer reciever car kit. I have the Pioneer DEH 7800MP in my Mustang with the same car kit and it works great. It is just hard to believe that the dealership is the only people to have the connection kit??
