Aftermarket Head Unit, Stock System
so basically, the guy who owned the car before me really wanted an aux jack, so he bought a aftermarket head unit (switching from the stock 6 disc CD changer to a single disc pioneer) so I thought great an Aux jack, but after buying the car i noticed a severe lack in bass from the supposedly "Premium" ford system (the Mach system), I listened to all the speakers only to notice the two lower speakers in the door were not playing at all.
I took the unit apart and found that the wire for the Amp is not plugged in nor does it have anywhere to be plugged in on the new head unit. I have the receipt for the Headunit/ install job from a local audio place.
Should I blame them for a crappy job? or Is there something I'm missing?

The 4 mid ranges run off that small square plug that goes to the 2 amps in the back(it has 8 wires on the harness). Is that even hooked you? if so did, they just use speaker wire or a Rcas to intergate the mach system.
On that car there are 3 plugs a big rectangle plug, big square plug and a small square plug. The rectangle plug has the power, gound, and runs the tweeters(tweeters are amped by the factory deck), big square plug is for an aux source like an ipod/aux input on the factory deck, and the small sqaure plug is the amp turn on and acts like rcas that run back to the factory mach amp. If the small square plug isnt hooked up then there will not be audio out of the mid ranges.
The shop should warranty there work since you have all the receipts. I take it to them and have them fix it. It is an easy fix if they just didnt hook up the small square harness. The person that owned it never noticed it?

No, your right. When I had it apart, the only thing plugged into the Head unit was the larger wiring harness, the smaller one running to the amps not only isnt plugged in but has nowhere to be plugged into. I'm trying to make an appointment to meet with the guy who originally installed it so i can see exactly what he has to say. The work has a 90 day warranty but the work was done way back in December, but still if they did bad work, I think they should still credit it.
If it helps at all in understand its a Pioneer DEH-1900MP Head unit connected to the Stock MACH 460 Sound System. Theres only one larger Rectangular wiring harness connected to the system and the one running from the amp isnt connected to anything and has nowhere to be connected, also on the back of the head unit the "Remote wire" is also just dangling there.
What would be the process in fixing something like this? and if theres anyone willing to come take a look in my area I live in Teaneck, NJ just outside of NYC.
Thanks.

can you get some pics of the hrns's? Do they look like the ones on page 2 of my cardomain page? Your problem sounds like a fairly common error that installers and regular people make when installing a deck in a mach system. Look at the blue/white wires on the deck hrns as well as on the factory side and connect them. This will turn on your sub amps and you will have bass. I suggest putting some caps inline on the tweets signal to take the bass out of them or they will blow.
With the mach system you need this wireharness to intergate the factory amps this plugs into the small square plug.
Scosche FDK13B( that is the maker and the model number of the harness you need) Metra is aother maker but I couldnt find the model number of there harness.
Sorry I tryed to upload a pic so you could see what it looks, but it wouldnt upload. If you just google search that make and model number of the harness you will find a pic of it.
ttocs car domain page covers 94 to 00 mustang mach systems. The 2001 to 2004 mustang mach system are alittle different. All you need is the right harness to make it work.
