Default Noob question about FM transmitters and power outlet

Hi Everyone! I just bought a Belkin TuneBase FM transmitter for my 2006 Mustang. I was wondering: If I remove the Ipod and leave the FM transmitter plugged into the Mustang's power outlet after turning off the ignition, will the transmitter still drain power? The transmitter is a bitch to plug in and remove every time I get in the car, so I'd like to just leave it plugged in all the time if it's safe.

hard wire it into the cd deck harness.
take the power(red) and wire it to the orange ign. wire.
then the black to the black ground in the harness, or the ground(black) on the cig lighter.

Is there no power button on the transmitter to turn it off?

yes it will drain power. It should not be enough to kill the battery unless you leave it for a couple days or so but it will drain power.

I have no idea what he is talking about but I highly recomend NOT doing this(red to orange).

Yeah ttocs I was trying to figure out too what in the world he was talking about that is why I just didnt want to touch that post.

Alot of those wireless tranmitters will just turn off after there not in use but every transmitter maybe different. But yeah it will take a couple days of the car not turn on and that transmitter on to kill your battery
