I got the Wiring kit today for my amp it has the RCA wires but i was told there is no RCA plug on my shaker 500.
in the instructions it says buy one of these:

don't just splice, use some T-taps. oh and do all the wiring for the converter behind the stock radio. this way when you scrap the stocker junk, boom the rcas are right there. same goes for the remote wire.
T-taps have absolutely no use in car audio.

why not? explain please.
T-taps are a poor compression fitting that WILL work its way loose when subj to vibration and climate changes. They work great in most applications EXCEPT in a car unless you have a car that doesn't vibrate, and is in a constant temperature.
Now I know you are going to say that you and all of your friends have been using them for everything and have NEVER had a problem right? Have you kept a car more then 5 yrs after installing the T-taps? I have had countless customers cars that have come in with problems that I have spent an hour or more trying to figure out what is wrong only to track it to a t-tap that is bad. I have been installing for almost 15 yrs now, and been in a few different shops in that time and never had a use for a t-tap yet.
Crimp connectors are acceptable, solder is ALWAYS prefered and t-taps and twist nuts have ABSOLUTLEY NO USE IN CAR AUDIO.
Its a bit of a sore spot for most installers as we have just wasted too much time because of those connectors. No respectfull shop will have them near their store.......
