Default Amp and Sub setup help

I have an amp that works best at 2 ohms and I have 2 subs that are 4 ohms and are dual coil. Is there anyway i can wire the subs to be 2 ohms?

thanks

not 2 ohm mono. You can get 1 ohm or 4 ohm mono, and 2 ohm stereo, but not 2 ohms mono

Thanks. Is there much of a sound quality difference between the 1 ohm and 4 ohm? I was planning on getting a new amp soon anyway but its about 300 for a 1 ohm amp that pushes 900 rsm and about $600 for a 4 ohm that does the same.

1 ohm produces louder bass than 4 ohm

Or can I run 1 sub's coils in series then run it parallel to the other sub and run that sub's coils in parallel to make it 2 ohms? or would that **** it up?

1 ohm is no louder then 4 ohm, and is has no difference in sound quality either. The difference is the resistance that the amp will see, and dictate how much power the amp will send out. This is probably what he meant by it is louder as IF you had an amp that was 1 ohm mono stable it would probably send more power to the speakers.

hooking up one of the two coils will work just as well as hooking up half of your spark plugs. DON'T DO THAT, EITHER ONE........

You will either need to run one sub for a 2 ohm mono load, get a different amp or some different subs.
