What subs should i get fosgates?? I heard they are good i want the 10 inch becuase i have a box already. I would get them off bestbuy.com so what does everyone think also what amp should i get to run them. Probably 2 unless you think itd be better to run one sub and one amp and buy a differnt box. I want to spend around 4-5 and still have nice crisp bass that you can hear cooming

If you have the box already, then you need to figure out what the volume of the box is (hxwxd) Then compare that volume to the speakers spec sheet (QtS) of requirements for enclosures. The calculator below will help you with that.

Personally i have owned FOSGATES, JL w0's, and JL w3's.... my 3's were AWESOME and i only powered them with 150 watt each (had two) would recommend them again... the fosgates were kinda cheepy ones but i dont know for somereason i just try to steer clear of fosgates, as directed by all my audio friends. if ur going with JL's people will try to talk u into w7's and the dual voice 6's but realistically unless ur doing competitions, in a car as small as a mustang u just need a w3. Get 10's if ur a rock/punk/etc... person(KICK DRUMS IS UR LOWEST NOTES) and get 12's if ur a rap/hiphop person (lots of lows not necissarily limited to drums). 10's give u pop and push, 12's give u resonance (spelling!?).

Personally for your budget i would get a 10" Alpine X-Type and run it with the Kenwwod KAC-810D amplifier. I had a 10" JL Audio W6 and it pounded the **** outta the sub. But thats just my opinion.

If you trying to spend about 500. for a 10" sub and a amp I would suggest these..
Alpine 10" SWR-1042D and the Alpine 700W Class D amp MRP-M350

MTX all the way...ooops you dont want to spend to much huh...the old fosgates where the **** but the new stuff is low end..all crap..you need to give more details on what you want out of it...bass quality what..
