Default new amp or fix current amp?

My battery kept on getting a parasitic drain when the car was off, thus killing the battery in about down to about 11 volts in 2-3 days. I took it to a automotive electrical shop and it turns out that my pass. side amp in the trunk is malfunctioning somehow draining down the battery. They disconnected it and everything is fine now (as far as charging is concerned).

I have the stock Mach 460 system. I can get a "good" used amp from a wrecked Mustang off ebay for like $50. Should I do this or take the amp itself apart and try and fix it.?

Any help would be appreciated.... thanks.

Do you have experience in fixing electronic internals and ciruitry? Cuz it may be a bit of a hassle to fix if you dont know what to look for?

No.. if it's something simple that I could solder, I could do that, but by no means am I an electrician... or even close.

Would replacing the amp fix the problem?
