Default sub positioning in trunk

02 GT Convertible

I know generally subs should be facing backwards toward the rear of the car. I have 2 12's in my trunk in seperate boxes. I want to position them on either side of the trunk, facing eachother. Is it really that bad to do this?

Or I could put them at a 45 degree angle so they both face kinda towards the trunk latch.

What do you guys think? I tried them all 3 ways and cant tell that much of a difference, but I that was with the top UP. Think it would make a difference with the top down? (I cant try it cuz you cant put the top down when its 20 degrees outside cuz its bad for the vinyl to crease like that)

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

anytime you put speakers in a position so that they are playing in different directions you will get cancellations. You will get the worst cancellations when the speakers are directly facing each other. The ideal position for the speakers to be would be on the same plane or all facing the same directions. If you have seperate enclosures you can always try.

Just play around with their placement until you get the sound you want.
