upgrading want some opinions
Yeah tell them to wire the subs up in paralell inside the box, once they do that you will just hook up the speaker wire to the amp just like you bridge it on a 2 ch.
Look for a mono amp that is 1 ohm stable(alot of amps arent 1 ohm stable, most are just 2 ohm stable when it come to mono amps) and that has around 1000 watts RMS.... Dont look at max wattage you want RMS.

Ok go to the kenwood link for example a few posts up.... You will see what the power is at 4 ohms, 2 ohms, and 1 ohm..... Go with what it says for the 1 ohm, so 900 watts.....How I am saying to wire the subs will give you a 1 ohm at the amp. You want a 1 ohm load, that why I am saying to make sure the amp specs say it is a 1 ohm stable amp.
If you want 4 ohms from the subs you can wire each sub in series then paralell it to the amp will give you 4 ohms is one way...

Well for you to find an amp that will give you all that power you are needing at 4 ohms is going to get very pricey....As long as you give the subs what they want and not under power them they dont really care how they get the power....1,2,4,or 8 ohms.
ok one final question....the only thing confusing me is the amp has 2 + and 2 - terminals and all the wiring diagrams for a mono amp only shows one set of wires going into the amp from the two subs so how do i hook it into the amp? do i only use one - and one + or what
Yeah alot of companies do that.... In that case just just wire it in stereo just like a 2 ch amp, what happens inside the amp, is that it bridges it for you..... I dont know why companies do that bc it confuses more poeple then anything.....On a side note even if you just put both sets of wires to one side of the amp it still will give you the same power so it really doesnt matter.
ok so on the subs - to -,+ to + and then one - to the amp and one + to the amp and do the same for the other set of wires except on the other set of terminals on the amp and thatll give me a 1 0hm load to each sub correct?

Yeah I guess you got me confused.....ok from the box you will have 2 terminals....for one terminal hook the + & - to one side of the amp and on the other terminal do the same to the other side of the amp.... and you are golden...If that is what you were saying sorry I didnt understand. That is all you need to do bc the subs will already be wired inside the box by the guys you are buying them from, like I said just make sure they wire them in paralell inside of the box.
