or if you hook up a new external amp to your head unit via the rca cables and rewire your speakers so that they know hooked up to the external amp then yes you can hook up the external amp.

most shops around here would prolly charge around 50 just to look at it.[>:]
i'm starting to like the external amp idea. could i hook up all six factory speakers to an external amp? would i still be able to run subs?
thanks.

Yes, you can hook up all 8 of your factory speakers. You have two pairs of 6x8s and two pairs of tweeters, so yes, there are eight. The only problem though is that you would have to rewire all of your speakers to be coming from out of the amp. You would use rca cables to connect from the preamps of your headunit to the preamps on your amp. Then wire your speakers from your amp. I don't think I have ever seen an 8 channel amp so you would have to get two 4 channel amps. I'm not sure on the specs for the factory speakers though so I can't suggest how much rms you want to support. Its probably no more than 50.

sounds good. i gonna go over all the wires one more time and see if i can get it to work again. if not i guess its time for a set of amps...
