sounds as though you do not have any power on the +12v switched wire(red). Simple cause of this would be a blown fuse. Take 45 secs and pull EVERY fuse in the box and take a look at it, if they are all good then check the ones by the battery. It takes less time to pull every fuse then it does to try and figure out which one the manual says, trust me.........
ok so obviously thats the first thing to check which i did and every fuse was good, but instead off taking out every fuse i used a fuse tester, sorry i left that out of the original post, but thanks anyways
fuse testers are really made to check questionable fuses after they are removed from the box. It is possible to have a bad fuse but have it still lite up when tested in the box.
are there any fuses in the wire harness going to the radio?
Try checking for power on the red wire just to confirm that it there is none. It should show power with the key on.

na, someone had straight wired the harness before i got the car, when i took out the old radio i was more pissed at the wiring then i was the sound quality of the 50 dollar durabrand deck they had in it, someone hacked the whole harness up pretty bad,
none of my fuses were bad at all, i took my multi tester and cheaked every wire for 12 volts in every key position and didnt get anything, what i ended up doing is wiring up the power leads to the deck to a switch, it wont save presets but i dont listen to cds or the radio so it works for me,
thanks for the info
