Default 06 mustang ipod?

I have an o6 mustang. How can I hook up an ipod without using a FM modulator. The sound quality with the modulator is terrible. Are there any products out there that I can hard wire in? Thanks

There are many threads on this. If you haven't already, use search. Briefly - you have to add an aftermarket aux input adapter if you want to keep your factory radio. There are different products availble - again, search will give more details.

The best one I've found without changing the head unit is the one made by peripheral / isimple.
It's a box that sits in your glove box and hooks to the AUX port in your stereo via a special harness. You can then route the IPOD charging plug and other cables to your center console. They're pricey though, I don't remember exactly what I paid, Prob around 180 bucks for the cable and another 30-40 for the harness + install.

I'm a novice at most this stuff, but I did the install myself in about 90 mins. No big deal.
I'm switching my head unit this tuesday and no longer need it so I'll be selling my interface.

You can control the ipod from the stereo, but I mostly just use mine with the 1/8" jack, and then use the ipod connect plug just for charging.

^^^^Like he said, the best one wires in like that. Go to Crutchfield.com and go to the "what fits my car" option and then look up ipod connectors and they will list all that fits. Some even work with your factory stereo and will display on the screen of the factory stereo.

I use the ISimple. It will charge the IPOD but will not charge an IPhone. It was easy to install and works great. I also bought one for my girlfriends 06 350Z, it was a different make and I cant remember what brand but worked the same way so there are a couple different manufactures out there. They both cost around the 120-140 area.
