Default first time deck swap, f150

this is the first time ive ever swapped a deck out myself so i need some basic help

i finally got the deck out, do i need to splice any of these wires? i bought a scosche wiring harness, do i just splice each wire to the corresponding one of my new wiring harness or what?

and what is this copper wiring on the the far right? it had a terrible electrical tape job on it, not sure what it is...

If you bought the right harness you shouldn't have to cut anything. The harness should plug right into that harness coming out of the dash, the other end should have loose wires to connect to the matching loose wires off your new HU (deck, whatever lol).

As far as whats on the right, looks like antenna plug to me, hard to tell from the pic but that would be my guess. Is it a large metal plug on the end?

+1

Just color match all the wires from the new stereo and splice them to the wires on the harness, then just plug the newly wired harness into your factory harness, plug in the antenna and you are solid. Definitely buy the mounting kit if yours didn't come with it, it makes the install possible, and look professional. Just mount everything, slide in the outer gray sleeve, bend the tabs up to keep it in place, mount the inner gray sleeve to the stereo and slide it in!

looks like a bever might have been trapped up there and had to eat some of yer antenna...... Put some tape on it at the minimum.
