Supplemental Amplifier Cooling?
I'm not changing my speakers out. This one only overheats on hot days. I do have another MTX amp running subs at a 1Ohm load just fine.
Does anyone have any experience with crossflow fans, such as this one sold by Stinger? http://www.stingerelectronics.com/pr...0&CategoryID=3
Also, can I power the fan off the remote wire signal (it pulls 190mA)? I could open the amp up and power it from in there off the car battery, but it would be easier to just stick it on the remote lead.
My amp's air intake is on top, so I'd have to devise a way for this fan to blow into the amp that way. Other than that obstacle, it looks like a pretty decently engineered fan...

uh, yea for $70 it is a great fan, not too loud but moving the hot air of the trunk over it will only work for a little while.
You will need to wire a relay up to the remote to power it or you will blow your remote output.

Hmmm,
I've got 3 of those in the back of my truck, but they didn't cost me 70 bucks each. (But then again, they're not actually made or purchased from Stinger)
They're really loud, and you'll still need to find a way to flow the air out of the trunk.
