Default Anyone have a 3 way setup?

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone has done a 3 way setup in the doors for the 05-up cars.I have a set of BNIB ID 6.5" components. I currently have the mach 500 in my car. Granted its better than what my f150 came with stock, but its still not up to par for me. Since this car has an 8" "woofer" in the door i was thinking of replacing it with something a bit better(suggestions?) and amping it with a new amp, followed by mounting the ID set where the 6x8s are(also amped seprately).

So has anyone done this?
Is there enough room for a decent pair of 8s?

I run a 3 way in my 94 gt but made kicks to house the 4 and 1 in. the advantage to a 3 way setup is that you can get diffent sized speakers that will play better on different freqs, to match them up well with a good cross over and try to make them blend seemlessly into one speaker. By using an 8, and a 6x8 and then a tweeter that would make for alot of sound up front if it is powered correctly but I wouldn't put it up aginst a good quality sq 3 way set.

Are you just wanting your ears to bleed or are you wanting better sq or just wanting to spend money? If we know your goals it will help.

sorry I read that wrong.

it sounds like you want to piece one together rather then gettin an complete 3 way set up? It can be done but you will need a seperate amp for the 8 and then will need to spend time tuning it which would be harder then getting the complete set. I am not saying it can't be done, but it would take some time to get it to sound even.

Yea I expected that. I have those IDs that have never been used that cost me 200 bucks. I've got no problem with tuning and I did plan on amping them separately.
