Hey guys, it's me again... I need help with my system. Just recently my amp/subs haven't been working properly... I'll start up the car, and it'll run fine for the first 5 mins, and then it just cuts off... After awhile, it'll go back on again, then cut off... I've checked the wiring, and it seems fine to me... Other than that I don't know what the problem is. Please help...

 

It Kinda sounds like the amp is going into safe mode. Were it will shut off it it gets to hot. I would check and make sure that u have it wired for the correct ohm load. If its too low that would cuase it to get hot and shut off.

 

I'll check that out right now, Now the Ohms are supposed to be higher, other than that, the amp shuts off? Sorry, I'm not too easy with the system... I had a friend help me wire it.

 

yea jus make sure ur not overloading ur amp and making it go into safe/protect mode, if its a newer amp it should have a protect light or the light on it would blink when it would cut off, i took my amp with 4 yr warranty back to best buy after a year or so and they replaced it with a newer amp because they no longer were carrying the old amp i bought....just thought id throw that in, i was pumped about it, lol....and if ur wiring is right jus make sure its the right gauge and wattage of wire that is needed for the amp.....

 

sounds like you wired the subs wrong
