Default New head unit to replace the Mach 460

A couple of posts down I explained why I think that I need a new head unit for my Mach 460 system. What can you guys reccomend to replace the stock one. All I want is a CD Player and radion obviously but I don't need the MP3 compatible kind. Also, do I have to get accessories to wire an aftermarket head unit? Will it fit right/flush in the empty space where the 460 was? thanks

you will need a dash kit, you can get one from best buy for under 20 bucks, just walk aroud to the install guys in the back they'll hook you up. Ask them for a y harness too about 17 bucks, it's easier so you don't have to cut any cables. As for the recomendation, refer my reply to your other post.

What year is your Mustang? Different years need different harnesses. Metra makes nice dash kits also along with harnesses.

I've noticed that most of the CD players in my price range (under $120) only put out about 50Wx4 ch. at the very most. Do my Mach 460 speakers need the 460 watts that they used to have to operate or can I get away with 150-200 watts?

correct me if im wrong, but just getting a head unit wont help much, infact ive talked to various audio shops and they said that you pretty much bypass the amps and so your speakers get less power, they reccomended to me to just start over from scratch and scrap the mach system all together
