I think there have been a few threads about the mechanism locking up. I don't know if it's repairable or not...

That is the thing about the Shaker head units... Sooner or later they will keep 6 of your favorite CDs.

If you press the eject button, then press and hold the eject button, the unit will automatically unload all disks one by one. Have you tried that? If that still doesn't work, you might try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. That should let any power drain out completely. When that happens the Shaker will do an inventory of all disks since you made it forget. HTH.

There are no heads on a CD player. I think you're thinking of cassette players... It seems the problem is the loading mechanism. If you or someone you know is a handy person you/they could probably get it out and get it apart to temp fix it. But if you go through all the trouble getting it out, you may as well just replace it.

Yeah thats what I meant. Not to replace with another shaker. But in your case....Unless you want to get into buying and installing amps, you just may be better off taking it to the dealer and let them offer a replacement shaker (get a price anyways). The shaker uses factory amps and no cd player you put in there is going to sound as good as the shaker without installing an external amplifier. That tends to get pricey. Although a new shaker may be just as pricey lol.

Either way, an aftermarket cd player won't hurt the value or damage anything as long as it's installed by someone competent.
