Bingo. That is what I needed. Thanks for that info. I have a much better understanding now. I'll be able to envision it a bit better when I have the PAC unit in my possession as well.

The part that I wasn't getting was that when done, there will be a set of wires (the ones soldered together) with a harness on each end. I didn't understand that, but now I see that the PAC end goes into the stock harness, and the Pioneer end goes into the head unit. Makes sense.

The picture of the PAC unit on the PAC site looks a bit different from the units that I see for sale on every retail site? Could someone link me to the exact product that I need?

Right here, and right here. The box housing is just colored differently/newer release from the one listed at crutchfield. Both are the exact same thing, although likely ordering newer stock will get you a higher revision of the product. So long as it's a PAC "C2R-FRD1", your good.

Just hit crutchfield's "outfit my car" section to make sure, and select the installation portion. There's really only 2 for FORD's for actual radio replacement that I'm aware of. The other(MS-FRD1) is for the newer models with SYNC and no double-din opening for mounting.
