replacing head unit
Ok guys so I need some help. I am going to be replacing my shaker 500 headunit with http://salestores.com/stores/images/...47/XDM7510.jpg
I am totally lost on how to wire it. I asked crutchfield and they gave me this list.

Im wondering why everything is so expensive?? is the wiring harness necessary to hook it up really $130????
Seems expensive compared to what some of you guys used. So can anyone give me a hand and tell me exactly what I need as far as wiring harness and such? Thanks

This does not ¨need¨ it, nor do any other of the head-units for our cars, but you may find yourself in a pickle without it, as at some yet undefined manufacturing date for 08´s they use the can-bus to do the radio turn on (ACC line) that would normally be used from the factory harness.
In addition to that the PAC harness does the voltage pull-down for the factory amps for you (5v for 05-09s, 2.5v I think for 10-11´s, maybe just 11´s, not sure).
So you might need to run a wire from the SJB on F41, for the delayed accessory line? Hell, can´t remember, I´ll look it up later. You can just buy the aftermarket harness and check with a voltmeter on the ACC line to make sure it´s actually wired.
Then you will need to use either a 1k resistor on the remote turn on line from the replacement head-unit to bring the voltage down to 5v for the amp(s), or a 5v voltage regulator for the amp(s) turn-on in addition to wiring with the generic harness(es).
Scosche or metra harnesses if you just wish to go with generic ones. Just select your car from the listings to find the right one(s). You definitely have 2 since you have the door subs, and if you have a plug going to your center console, then you also need the aux harness each carries. Also, if you had satellite radio in the unit, you will need an antenna adapter.
You can likely pick these up at just about any auto store, and chains like best-buy, even Sears I think. Usually just shows as being for FORD 2003+ models. Just make sure it has the 8pin sub connector in addition to the 24pin.
